Nanoscale network

Nanoscale network, short for Nanscale communication network, is a telecommunications technology that provides networked communication among objects that are the size of biological cells and smaller[1][2]. The goal is to achieve efficient network communication at the smallest possible scale. The communication channels are on the order of individual molecules.

Approaches

Nanoscale and molecular networks are being developed by a variety of means, for example, leveraging biology including molecular motors, calcium signaling, and gap junctions as well as non-biological mechanisms such as diffusion, carbon nanotubes, and quantum mechanical phenomena.
